WBSC YouTube channel to showcase all 54 games of Jr. Men's Softball World Championship 2018 in Prince Albert, Canada

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced that all 54 games of the XII WBSC Junior Men's Softball World Championship 2018 in Prince Albert, Canada, will be live-streamed and available to audiences worldwide for free through the Official WBSC YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/wbsc.

Thirteen National Teams from the five Olympic continents will be a part of the global battle in Prince Albert, with Guatemala and Hong Kong making their historic debuts.

"The WBSC Junior Men's Softball World Championship 2018 is the world's top men's softball competition on this year's international calendar, and we are excited to showcase this global event exclusively through the WBSC YouTube Channel," said WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari. "With this strategy we raise awareness of our sport's growing global footprint, while connecting with more fans and new followers around the world through this engaging live content."

The WBSC Junior Men's Softball World Championship 2018 opens Saturday, 7 July, at 10:00 a.m. local time, with Denmark versus Mexico (Group A) serving as the group-stage opener of the global tournament.

For the Opening Round of the Junior Men's Softball World Championship, production across the two main venues will feature three cameras, with production expanded to four cameras for the final four playoff games. All games will feature running commentary in English.

The nations competing For the Title of World Champion have been drawn into two groups:

Group A: No. 3 Japan, No. 4 Argentina, No. 5 Australia, No. 9 Mexico, No. 11 Denmark, No. 14 South Africa and No. 16 India.

Group B: No. 1 New Zealand, No. 2 Canada, No. 6 United States, No. 7 Czech Republic, No. 15 Guatemala and No. 17 Hong Kong.

The top four nations from each group will advance to the playoffs, which begin on 13 July.

Japan will head to Prince Albert as the defending World Champion, after going undefeated two years ago in Midland, USA, and defeating New Zealand in a thrilling 2-1 World Championship Finale.

WEB-STREAMING ANNOUNCED FOR 2017 WBSC MEN'S SOFTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
WHITEHORSE, YK, Canada -- Fans around the world will be able to watch the 2017 WBSC Men's Softball World Championship from their living room, thanks to SportsCanada.TV and Ballpark Broadcasting.

Sixteen teams from all five Olympic continents will compete in the 15th edition of the men's softball championship, which will be hosted in Whitehorse, Yukon, 7-16 July. Live streaming video will be offered for all 76 games played over the 10 days.

SportsCanada.TV will provide the video production for each game while Ballpark Broadcasting will provide the play-by-play and colour commentary. The cost to view all games, including playoffs, is US$29.95. Games will be recorded and archived for on-demand viewing as well. Fans can subscribe to the service through this link: worldsoftball.tv/

Great Britain and Botswana will kick off the world championship at 9:00 am PDT on 7 July. Host Canada begins defence of their title against South Africa, at 7:30 pm, immediately following the opening ceremony.

This will mark the third time that Ballpark Broadcasting and Sports Canada TV teamed up to deliver state of the art, high definition live streaming video broadcasts of a WBSC Championship to a world-wide audience. The two partnered in 2014 in Whitehorse, and again in 2015 in Saskatoon. Sports Canada TV also produced the streaming for the 2016 WBSC Women's Softball World Championship in Surrey, Canada.

Tournament ticket passes for the 2017 WBSC Men's Softball World Championship are on sale at Sport Yukon. Passes are $200 for adults and $150 for youth and seniors, and they are good for all games -- including medal rounds. Day passes will be available at the gate during the event.

POOLS, SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED FOR 2017 WBSC MEN'S SOFTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 
WHITEHORSE, Canada -- The World Baseball Softball Confederation today announced the pools and official tournament schedule of the 2017 WBSC Men's Softball World Championship taking place in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada from 7-16 July.

The fifteenth edition of the men's flagship softball event will showcase more than 80 games -- 64 games taking place in the round robin over the first seven days, followed by three days of playoff action.

The participating nations in the WBSC Men's Softball Championship represent a global reach that spans across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania.

Nations will be divided into two pools to compete in a challenging round-robin, with the top four finishers from each pool advancing to the double page playoff round. The remaining teams will compete in the placement round.

Pool A: No. 3 Argentina, No. 5 Australia, No. 4 Canada, No. 11 Dominican Republic, Hong Kong, India, No. 14 South Africa, and No. 6 USA.

Pool B: No. 19 Botswana, No. 8 Czech Republic, No. 13 Denmark, No. 10 Great Britain, No. 20 Indonesia, No. 2 Japan, No. 1 New Zealand, Turkey, and No. 7 Venezuela 

All 17 participating National Teams will compete on Opening Day, with action opening on Friday, 7 July at 09:00 local time with Great Britain taking on Botswana.

On Friday, 7 July, opening ceremonies will begin at 18:00 at the main competition field, which will be followed by Canada meeting South Africa in front of the home crowd.

A key contest will be the rematch of the 2015 bronze medal game between New Zealand and Venezuela, when they face each other on 11 July at 15:00 pm. 

The gold medal game will take centre stage on 16 July at 16:00, and will be preceded by the bronze medal match at 13:00.

Both India and Turkey will be making their men's world championship debuts. India's first action will be versus Australia while Turkey's first opponent will be New Zealand.

Canada is aiming to repeat as world champions following their gold medal performance on their home turf in 2015 by defeating New Zealand 10-5; Venezuela earned the bronze medal.
